About the Artist
U.S.-born Patricia sketches with watercolours on canvas, yupo or printing paper textured with gesso, and often includes words or a haiku-like poem in her work in an attempt to make the whole more than the sum of the parts. She strives for fresh spontaneous expression and purity of colour.
Patricia Kirby’s art is emotional and textured. She paints what she envisions and feels, rather than a traditional literal representation. She uses experimental techniques such as watercolour on canvas and yupo, as well as more traditional water media techniques.
